KD 12 Performance Review

Nike KD 12

If You Like Zoom.. Ohh Man, Your Gonna Love The KD12

What is up everyone! Airjayp is back with another performance review for you guys and today we have one great basketball shoe to discuss, and at this point may be my favorite basketball shoe I have tested from the releases this year!

The shoe basically did everything right. While testing it was almost hard to find items to actually describe about the shoe, because they felt so good on my foot that I really don’t even know where to start!

Cushion/Comfort: 3

Lets just jump right in to one of the strongest features as well as one of my favorite parts of the sneaker. As I Described in the intro if you love zoom, then you will love these sneakers on the court. You can basically feel the zoom in every movement as well as free standing its so soft and cushiony that the comfort level is off the charts in this actual pair of KDs. Theres nothing like playing some competitive pickup to take you sneakers off and your feet basically do not even hurt. Its basically like, wait did I already play?? These worked that well for me and I couldn’t be more impressed with the cushion and comfort in the KD 12. The full length zoom strobel is nothing short of awesome and I would love to see them use this setup more often.

Support/Lockdown: 3

I would say by this point if you have read any of my reviews you know one of my favorite or most wanted parts in a sneaker is support. The KD 12 gives great support overall and I felt very comfortable, and most importantly safe in the sneaker. With ankle injuries in the past certain sneakers I play in; I sometimes can feel myself maybe tending to or paying attention to my ankles because theres not much worse than rolling/spraining an ankle. One of the key features to this lockdown system is the flywire thats underneath the initial materials, which is called quad axial flywire. No matter if you are making quick cuts, sudden stops, or just change of direction; the quad axial flywire works to keep your foot contained in the shoe at all times with what they are calling multi-directional dynamic containment. (This is actually visible in wording on the medial side of the shoe as well.) In the KD12 I never noticed myself really paying attention to the support/lockdown because it was so good in my opinion and I was able to get the sneaker to the tightness I liked with the lacing system to feel safe and secure at all times!

Traction: 3

Another awesome feature to the 12s was the traction setup. As I’m writing this review I actually just got done playing on a court that was pretty dusty tonight. These sneakers performed very well in these conditions and I didn’t even ever wipe them once. Whether I was moving laterally or vertically the traction setup worked very well for me and there is absolutely no complaints from me.

Materials: 3

Materials are an aspect that honestly I sometimes overlook because if every other aspect of a shoe performs well I can deal with maybe not to great materials. With the KD12 its the exact opposite..I absolutely love the materials of the shoe. The best way I know to describe the whole shoes materials inside and out is basically soft. At times when I was playing in them I was trying to think of a sneaker I have played in lately that I actually liked the materials better and I honestly could not think of one. I explained the base layer of flywire already, but it is covered by a synthetic mesh that also has a soft feel to it. The interior lining of the shoe is also very comfortable and feels great on your foot on the court. My favorite feature of the materials though is the tongue. The tongue on the shoe feels very soft and is made out of a noticeable flyknit material. As soon as I put the sneakers on I basically noticed the tongue and instantly thought these are going to be so comfortable on the court! I do not think they could have picked the material combo to be any better on this shoe, and it honestly worked out near perfect for me!

Overall: 3

The KD12 not only performs awesome, but it keeps you looking awesome on the court as well. The shoe aesthetically looks great on the court or even off the court for casual wear as well. I get this question a lot, would you wear those casually? I wear tons of basketball shoes casually, but these I would definitely recommend. The comfort, from memory is hard to match in a basketball shoe and I think if you try out the KD12 you are not going to be disappointed! I will go out and say at this time these are my favorite performance model I have played in this year.

Thank you for checking out the performance review on the KD12! I really appreciate your support and hope you enjoyed the review! I hope this gave you the needed information you were looking for on the KD12!

Have A Great Day, And As Always Happy Hooping!!
