Are we really already onto the 3rd signature shoe from Anta for Kyrie?? I feel like it was just yesterday I was playing in the Nike Kyrie 1?!?
What is going on, everyone?? AirJayP is back with another review, and yes, the Anta Kyrie 3 is what we are discussing! The line from Nike, as I have said on several occassions was my favorite line within the basketball space, and when it switched over, I was heartbroken! Anta, to say the least, has done a spectacular job with this line so far. I absolutely loved the 1st and 2nd signatures from the line. How will the 3's stand against them?? Let's find out!

Traction: 4/5
I mean, we are talking a Kyrie model here, so we should expect the traction to be a highlight! I don't recall ever playing in a Kyrie model period that had bad traction, but to break it down a little, these offered me once again little to no issues. The pattern is very "flowy" to the look with designs and patterns. It also features wide grooves, which I had thought might be susceptible to picking up a lot of dust, but it did not for me. The full rubber outsole is not too soft, but also not super hard. I would leave it right in the middle. This is definitely something that will help with outdoor use. I played outdoors in these, and the durability was very good, and basically looks like they have only been played in indoors. The setup is grippy and tacky, offering you great traction no matter the movement. Whether I was cutting, moving laterally, or vertically, the traction performed great for me, and I don't foresee many issues arising with these.
Fit: 4/5
I went down half to get the snug fit I am looking for in my hoop shoes. I probably should have just stuck with my regular true to size. They still worked just fine for me, but they did fit me a little more snug than I usually prefer. In the 1 & 2, I did the same thing and went with an 11 instead of an 11.5. This worked well for me on both of those, but with these 3's, I would recommend just going TTS and not down half.

Aesthetics: 5/5
The look and details of the model and all the cw's have been great in my opinion. For this specific pair, being the "Chinese New Year," they came with a pendant attached, which was a nice touch for any Kyrie fan! The tongue also features a pony hair look and feel behind the logo, which gives a premium touch. The model overall just has a very nice look, and in my opinion, is another great-looking shoe in the Anta Kyrie line!
Lockdown: 5/5
The lockdown was another area where the shoe performed very well on court, and has some nice touches too as well. The sneaker features, first off, a 1:1 fit that is going to keep you locked in, ankle/heel padding that helps to keep the heel locked in at all times, with comfort as well. The sneaker also features a TPU sidewall that helps with all those cuts and change of direction. There is also a midfoot carbon plate that helps with stability and support. From the time I put these on, I knew the lockdown was going to stand out just from the nice fit you get. When you mix that in with all the aspects mentioned above, it feels as if they just worked hand in hand together. When you take a sneaker that has a good fit and traction mixed with a good lockdown setup.. You aren't going to have a lot to worry about on the basketball court! I believe the lockdown may have been the strongest point of this model.

Cushion: 3/5
The cushion was probably a weaker point for me in the sneaker on court. 5 years ago, or in my younger days, I would have loved the minimal feel and the amount of court feel you get. Nowadays, I am looking for a little more cushion than these had to offer. Had these been a smidge more plush, I would have absolutely loved that. If you are looking for a ton of impact protection or a super plush feel, you just aren't going to get that with these. If you are looking for a ton, and I mean almost complete court feel, well, you are good to go here. I have never known for a Kyrie model to offer just an absolute monster amount of cushion, and I have always loved that as I am more looking for that court feel myself, but I do believe the 1 & 2 both felt better from Anta.

Materials: 4/5
The materials are mostly like a dual mesh upper that is breathable, and also has been very durable for me as well. They are lightweight and offer more positives than negatives, definitely for me. The interior, as mentioned previously, has a nicely padded heel counter, and once inside the shoe gives almost a premium type feel or vibe. The materials do feel nice and comfortable on foot. The only real negative I could bring, and that is if I am being super nitpicky, is that the materials could have been a little softer to the touch. Did this really affect my performance? No, not at all, and really, there were no performance negatives, so you could probably even call this a 5/5.
Overall: 4/5
The Kai 3 is another really solid hoop shoe and performer on court from Anta. I do think that the 1st model is still my absolute favorite, with the two and 3 here in a neck-and-neck tie. The lone thing here that was a small disappointment for me was the cushion. Once again, as I mentioned, this is something that in the past I would have loved, but I just need a little more cushion now. The traction, lockdown, and fit were all superb, and will make these a huge positive for anyone playing in them. There are so many good hoop shoes out now, and when you play in a ton, you are able to notice huge differences in all the different pairs. Are these my favorite shoes to play in right now? No, but they will probably make my top 10 of 2026 hoop list. The Kai 3 is a great basketball shoe that I am glad I got to review, and am super happy to keep on going with this line, and cannot wait to try the 4's!!
