Sneakerwebb344 Also Makes An Appearance Discussing The Jordan 1 "Zoom!"
From 85 Till Now... There’s Not Much Better Than These Guys In Most Categories!
Traction: 5 Out Of 3!
Let's start out with the best!
The traction on Jordan 1s is nothing short of awesome. Possibly the simplest, greatest traction setup of all time! Comprised of solid rubber in many different color options (depending on which shoe) there is nothing in this aspect the 1s do not do perfectly. Laterally or vertically you are covered perfectly! If you like the sound test these will also approve as well! I’m not so much on the sound test as I am how they feel on court and as I said, in my opinion, the traction is perfect on Jordan 1s!
Materials: 3
The “Paris To NY” pair I tested have pretty good materials in my opinion. No, they are not shattered backboard tumbled leather, but they are very soft. Most 1 “Hi’s” do offer great leather materials, with some having better than others. This is always a huge debate from a lifestyle standpoint, but we are here for the performance!
For me, the leather was as I said very soft and it felt as if it formed very well to my foot. You do not get a lot of modern basketball shoes to form to your foot as 1s do. It's almost as if when I put my pair on that I have played in they feel as if they were made specifically for my foot. The materials were no disappointment for me at any time and I would love to see more all-leather uppers on certain performance shoes so maybe we could get this feeling out of some more modern kicks on the court!
Fit: 3
As long as you get the correct size your great to go! I recommend true to size. I’m an 11.5 if you did not know and that is what I like to go with whether on the court or casual. If I wanted a super snug fit I could actually size down, but the 11.5 is perfect for how I like them. If I size up I can still wear them casually, but it’s not something I would recommend on the court.
Lockdown/Support: 3
The lockdown was superb and gave me no issues at all. The shoe is definitely not modern and can feel a little bulky at times, but once you get that bounce in your step you will not even notice! The shoe gave me stability, comfort, and no worry about feeling as if I was at a risk for injury from a rolling my ankle standpoint. Obviously it’s a pretty high top sneaker which I do not mind and on most occasions actually prefer. The collar area is comfortable and keeps me locked in as well, but I would recommend a higher top sock to prevent chafing, etc. I have no complaints at all from a support/lockdown standpoint.
Cushion: 1, But Is It Really Bad??
The Jordan 1 features a small air unit in the heel which is basically not even felt while on foot. The shoe basically offers the most court feel you are going to get out of any shoe period! I usually prefer a good amount of court feel mixed with some cushion. Certain shoes that have a ton of cushion I am not normally the biggest fan of, but there are some I do like. My point here is if you need or prefer a ton of cushion you probably will not even want to try these and they can be a little hard on the knees if you play an extended amount of time or consistently day to day in them. I personally played basketball competitively for over 14 years and my knees are not the greatest as it is, but I tested these on several occasions. On one specific occasion for over three hours and had the most fun I’ve had in a shoe in a long time! The setup will not be for everyone and I probably would not recommend years and years of playing in them, but every once in a while you will definitely be good to go!
Sneakerweb344's Thoughts On The Jordan 1 "Zoom"
Sneakerweb has been testing the Jordan 1 "Zoom" outdoors due to the current coronavirus guidelines, but is having a blast in them! Here are some of his thoughts and main key differences to a normal Jordan 1. "The cushion is night and day compared to a regular Jordan 1. The Zoom is totally felt throughout your whole foot with an unlocked zoom feel. I also feel that the support is much improved, and holds your foot in place near perfectly!"

Overall: 3
It is pretty hard to pick out something about the Jordan 1 that I do not like. I mean sure the cushion is basically nothing, but as I said it offers court feel galore! The traction is very tough to beat, the materials and lockdown are also very solid. Most importantly the shoe is very fun to play in and who knows you might even feel like mike soaring in for a layup! From 85 until now the Jordan 1 is timeless and a shoe I will love forever! If you have the slightest interest in playing in a pair you definitely need to try them out!
Thanks for checking out this review on the Jordan 1!
I hope you have a great week & as always...
