We might be taking it back to 2014 with this pair of Jordanʼs, but itʼs definitely a great shoe to have in your basketball bag at all times!
Materials: A+ Lets just jump right in and talk about a great part of the shoes. Lets say I simply love the upper Materials on the Jordan 29. The actual materials are basically just a woven upper that in images I feel would be itchy and just not comfortable, but boy was I wrong. The materials are super soft and it seems the more I play in them
the better they actually feel on my foot. If You love comfortable materials and overall just like being comfortable on the court the 29s are definitely for you!
Traction: A
I really do not have any complaints about the traction at all other than I did feel like I had to break them in a little to get the actual full effect. I never took these outside so I really have no results to give you on an outdoor court. Laterally and vertically both felt well for me and as I said no real complaints, but overall just a great traction setup. Whether the floor was dusty or perfect I felt the traction was very reliable and gave me that safe, confident feel.
Lockdown: B
So this is where it can be a little tricky. Overall the lockdown and shoe was great and amazing! The only issue I have is I felt the shoe was built a little to high or if this is even a term to much of a high top. Now I know if you have read any of my other reviews you are thinking, but normally you donʼt really like low tops? Your exactly right, Iʼm not normally a huge fan of lows, but I feel like a little lower cut on these and they would probably be my favorite basketball shoes I have ever played in! They are definitely still pretty high on the list but I think this is a feature that could limit some movement for certain players or be an issue they donʼt really like. Overall though the lockdown is great and I never have felt at a risk of injury due to the actual shoe. I have felt very safe and secure at all times.
There is a low top version of the 29 which I have not tried out, but it is something that I will possibly look into considering I liked these so much!
Cushion: A The Cushion for me worked very well, but in some ways I could understand why others may not feel the same way. The shoe does feature zoom in the forefoot area
which feels very soft to me. I really, really like the setup personally. The part that I feel some may not like is there is no zoom in the actual heel or the shoe doesnʼt feature full length zoom. To me personally though I am on my toes a lot when playing and Iʼm not really feeling or missing the cushion to bad in my heels. As I said before overall I love the setup and feel like the cushion is so soft in the forefoot you canʼt even tell your missing it anywhere else.
Overall: A If you want me to describe these in one word I would say awesome! I do love playing in these shoes and it has became a shoe that I will take with me in my bag on basically every playing session. When you test shoes there are times you may just not like the pair your playing in and need a spare pair to play in. These would be that pair for me that I would just have always with me in case I needed a shoe for an overall fun night playing basketball!
Thank you for checking out my performance review on the Jordan 29! I hope this gives you the info you would need if you were looking for a pair! Have A Great Week & Happy Hooping!
